Frequently Asked Questions

What primary services do you offer?

I provide physical therapy treatments in an outpatient setting.  I have purposefully set up my practice as a sole practitioner so that my patients will see me for each session, one on one with no distractions.

What do you specialize in?

I have been a physical therapist for 25 years.  I have worked in varied healthcare settings with many different kinds of patients of all ages so I have a broad amount of experience.  That being said, I do have a special interest in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) as well as Vestibular, Dizziness and Balance Disorders.  I am a Certified Vestibular Specialist, have specialized training in TMD and licensed to perform dry needling in Georgia.

Will dry needling fix my problem?

Dry needling is a wonderful technique that I perform and augments my treatment sessions. For optimal and sustained results, dry needling is performed as part of a full physical therapy evaluation and treatment, including a home exercise program.  Best results usually occur in 5-8 sessions.

Can I contact you with questions before my first appointment?

Yes!  I encourage that.  I am happy to discuss your current issues/problems to see if I would be a good fit as your physical therapist.  You can fill out the contact form on the website, email or call me.

What kind of patients do you treat?

I treat patients with pain and injuries from falls, car accidents, overuse /repetitive as well as sports injuries.  I treat chronic pain such as low back and neck pain.   I treat neurological, dizziness and vestibular disorders to help improve patients postural stability, balance and reduce their fall risk.  As a Certified Vestibular Specialist, I have learned the skills necessary to properly evaluate, diagnose and treat vestibular dysfunction, including BPPV.  I treat patients with TMJ and facial pain as well as headaches.  My goal is for my patients to improve their ability to move, reduce their pain and improve their function, thus improving their quality of life.

What are your treatments like?

I perform an evaluation starting with a full review of your past medical history, the nature of your injury/dysfunction as well as your own insights into your issue - such as what has helped and not helped in the past and what makes your symptoms worse or better.   You are the expert of you and I work with you to come up with a treatment plan.  I often see patients that have "failed" with traditional physical therapy. I investigate to find underlying causes that contributes to my patients issues such as muscle imbalances, postural dysfunction and impaired body mechanics/movement patterns and use dry needling, therapeutic exercise, patient education, targeted soft tissue mobilization and other PT techniques in my sessions.

Where exactly is your clinic?

We are located in Olde Milton Commons on Old Milton Parkway, just East of 400 and North Point Parkway.

Coming from the West and 400 you will need to make a U turn on Old Milton at the light for Brookside Parkway (where Andy's frozen custard is located) - after that U turn, the clinic will be on your right in Olde Milton Commons.  Coming from the East, take your last right on Old Milton Parkway before the light at North Point Parkway.  I am located in the building at the front and to the right when you enter.

I am the sole owner of Elevate Physical Therapy LLC.  I personally see and manage all my own patients. I have partnered with other health professionals and treat patients within the Center for Peak Performance.  A fellow PT and I share a beautiful clinic space with private areas for treatments as well as a dedicated gym area.  You will find our environment peaceful and conducive to healing.  Come visit and take a look!
